lower (9%), but it could have been worse without government support. Household savings increased to over €202 billion, €90 billion more than in 2019. So this period has caused disruption to the entire economy, but what stimulus measures have saved the day?
Among the most significant measures, there was, first of all, an explosion in partial unemployment to preserve as many jobs as possible despite the decline in activity. Employment has remained relatively stable. Then, the State-guaranteed loan for companies with fewer than 50 employees was created. These are just a few brief highlights of the full range fresh list of aid measures offered by the State during this unprecedented period. These measures have helped limit the damage and save as many businesses as possible. However, the question of recovery still looms large, as these measures can delay business failures rather than save them. To date, this recovery has still not taken place.
